Session Abstract

An Introduction to MapGuide Open Source

This session will provide an overview of the MapGuide Open Source web mapping platform. Planned for release early this spring, MapGuide Open Source offers a very comprehensive feature list, including support for Linux and Windows, vector and raster based viewers, support for Open GeoSpatial WMS and WFS services, and a rich server-side API that supports PHP, ASP.NET, and Java.

This project will be one of the first projects offered as part of the ""MapServer Foundation"". See http://www.mapserverfoundation.org/ for details.

Speaker Biography

Robert Bray

Robert Bray has been a developer of web mapping technologies since 1991. Primarily working for Autodesk, Inc. on the MapGuide product. Robert is also familar with many other web mapping technologies, such as MapServer, ArcIMS, and GeoMedia Web.
