SPIN 2 / ALTA 2 RE-DEVELOPMENT OVERVIEW

In May of 2006, Alberta Land Titles will introduce the Phase 3 Spatial Data Services (SDS) release of its enhanced data delivery system SPIN 2, which provides access to a variety of Government of Alberta land related data products and services. The presentation to be given will provide an overview of the SPIN 2, the overall Land Titles re-development initiative (ALTA 2) to date, demonstrate the new Phase 3 products/services, respond to general questions and receive advisory feedback.

EXAMPLE SDS FEATURES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Remote (external client system) “web services” data query directly against the SPIN 2 database for titles and other data.
  • Remote (external client system) “web services” polygon search against the SPIN 2 database for titles and other data.
  • Enhanced search screens and mapping/spatial interface
  • Enhanced and/or streamlined “view orders”, shopping cart and checkout interfaces
  • Title polygon mapping base with LINC number and parcel boundary highlighting
  • Buffered line search against title parcel polygon base
  • Radius search against title parcel polygon base
  • Cancelled title search (e.g. from historical to current title)
  • “Back of title” interest documents searches (e.g. caveats, leases, rights-of-way, mortgages, easements)
  • Multiple survey plan input file search
  • Co-ordinate based search
  • Enhanced ATS grid search
  • Map area magnifier and other new productivity tools or interface enhancements "

Speaker Biography

Bill Elliott

Bill Elliott is the Manager of Technical Services and Application Support for Alberta Land Titles. His background includes 27 years in both the private and public sides of urban planning and technical services administration within the Alberta Provincial Government. In addition to his regular role Bill is currently Project Manager for the Land Titles SPIN 2 (Data Delivery) and ALTA 2 (Registration System) re-development initiatives.
