Session Abstract

Modern Mobile Workforce Management and Tracking

Utility Companies, Telecommunication Companies, and other private and government organizations often manage large field forces. These organizations are under increasing pressures to be competitive, to improve customer service, to reduce operating costs and to comply with various legislative and regulatory requirements.

Modern, spatially enabled solutions for Mobile Workforce Management and Asset Tracking have emerged as key tools in efficiently addressing the pressures these organizations are facing. This half-day workshop will take a detailed look at modern solutions for spatially-enabled Mobile Workforce Management and Asset Tracking. Topics such as assignment and dispatch for trouble calls, construction, maintenance, inspection and customer service will be addressed. The workshop will include discussion and demonstrations detailing business needs, business solutions and case studies to show how various organizations have successfully employed these solutions to improve their operations. This workshop is intended for any organization that has a need to efficiently manage mobile workforces.

Speaker Biographies

David Gariepy

Dave Gariepy is the Director of Business Development for Intergraph Canada Ltd. Dave has over 20 years of experience in the Geomatics Industry including involvement in the start-ups of Teranet, Spatial Data Warehouse, AltaLIS and First Base Solutions. Dave is a member of the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors, Professional Engineers Ontario and the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta.

Patti Irving

Patti Irving is a Senior Applications Consultant for Intergraph. Patti has over 6 years experience working with utility and communications customers. For the last 4 years, Patti has been working with Outage Management / Mobile Workforce Management solutions as a technical consultant in the global marketing group and most recently implementing projects for North American customers.

Mathias Uhlenbruck

Mr. Uhlenbruck is an application consultant and project manager who has been working for Intergraph in Switzerland and Canada since 1994. He is a Geomatics Engineer and has a Bachelor’s degree in surveying engineering from the Technical University of Munich, Germany, as well as a Master’s degree in Land Information Management from the Department of Geodesy and Geomatics Engineering at the University of New Brunswick. He has been working in the GIS field for over 15 years, first in application design and development and later as an application specialist supporting users in their development and application of different GIS systems. Mr. Uhlenbruck has been technical lead in numerous projects for municipal property, engineering, and public works departments as well as utility companies and public safety agencies.
