Spatial Technology Trends in Security and Public Safety

In recent years, our society has been increasingly focused on Security and Public Safety. This increased attention has been driven by a number of (natural and man-made) actual events as well as by the increasing recognition of the increasing potential for various types of events. Fortunately, advanced technologies are allowing us to address security and public safety needs more effectively than in the past. This presentation will take a look at the evolving role that spatial technology is and will be playing in addressing society’s needs for increased security and public safety. The presentation will include some actual case studies that employ spatial technology.

David Gariepy

Dave Gariepy is the Director of Business Development for Intergraph Canada Ltd. Dave has over 20 years of experience in the Geomatics Industry including involvement in the start-ups of Teranet, Spatial Data Warehouse, AltaLIS and First Base Solutions. Dave is a member of the Association of Ontario Land Surveyors, Professional Engineers Ontario and the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta.
