Session AbstractBest Practices in Web-mapping During its relatively short history, both commercial and open source web-mapping technology has undergone significant evolution and development. At the same time, there has been an explosion in applications and business rationale for deployment. Now that the dust has settled and we have entered a mature phase for this type of GIS technology, we need to ask ourselves about best practices. This paper will use a series of case studies as a basis for exploring issues around implementation, integration and application development in the area of web-mapping and web-GIS. The author will draw together suggestions regarding best practices and invite limited discussion between members of the audience.
