There are 30 speaker sessions planned for the 2018 conference. Speaker presentations are 45 minutes in length (including Q & A). Please review the grid for details on session offerings. Individuals and organizations interested in speaking at the conference are encouraged to submit their abstracts for consideration. Non-commercial presentations only. There are 6 workshop sessions planned for the 2018 conference. Workshop presentations must be a minimum of 3 hours to maximum of 4 hours in length. Please review the grid for details on session offerings. Individuals and organizations interested in presenting a workshops session are encouraged to submit their abstracts for consideration. New to the conference in 2018, the panel session will run on day 2 of the conference from 3:15-4:15 pm. There are 3 panelist spots. Conference delegates will submit their hot topic questions in advance of the conference. The committee will choose the most popular questions and the panelist will present their views. We invite thought leaders to submit an abstract to participate as a member of the panel.
Abstracts for all presentations will be reviewed and selected by the GeoAlberta Speakers Committee. There is strong competition for presentation sessions, so a good abstract submission is important to help increase the chances of your abstract being selected. The GeoAlberta Conference Speakers Committee will select abstract submissions using the following criteria:
Value of the Subject: The presentation scope and originality must be of interest to a significant number of conference attendees. Your abstract shall indicate which audience segment would be most interested in your presentation and what will be learned from the presentation. Ideally, your presentation will provide conference attendees with:
Quality: Abstracts will be reviewed for quality, originality, and innovation. They will be reviewed and ranked for acceptance and placement in the program.
Topics of Interest: Based on feedback from previous conferences and current trends, below are some broad topics of interest to which presentations will be categorized.

Pursuing your GISP designation? Presenting at the GeoAlberta Conference will earn you one point towards the minimum 8 necessary in the ‘Contributions to the Profession’ category.
Primary presenters receive a 50% discount on their registration fee, a considerable discount if booked before the Early Bird Deadline.
All accepted presenters must register for the conference prior to presenting.
